About
I ask the question everyone else in the room is thinking and nobody wants to say out loud. Usually it’s some version of why are we doing it this way?, and usually the answer is that nobody has checked in a while.
I give feedback straight and I’d rather get it back the same way. A polite room that agrees on nothing is the most expensive kind of room there is. The argument is with the idea, never the person holding it, and when someone else’s answer is the better one I drop mine and get on with the work.
The rest is discipline. Cut what’s left to what earns its place, stay kind to the person at the end of it, and keep the whole system in view while you do, because nothing in a regulated product moves on its own.
